About time for an update!

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re all keeping well and coping with whatever the season is throwing at you.
I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that my promising start to the latest book in the Guardian continued right up until the very end, and I actually managed to finish writing it about ten days ago. Woohoo! Great right?
Well, yes and no!
Those of you who know me well, which will be a lot of you by now, know that one of the first things I do when I finish one of my books is let you know all about it, and get it straight up for pre-order on Amazon.
Unfortunately, the morning after I finished writing this book, I managed to put my back out, and I’ve spent virtually the whole of the last ten days flat on my back, in excruciating pain!
I know, right?
Now, I bet you’re all thinking, ‘What was she doing to put her back out? Tobogganing? Horseback riding? Wild, monkey-sex?’
Pfft! I wish!
No, sadly, all I did was climb out of bed and turn around and flick the sheet back over and WHAM! Back gone, messy bed, and not a hope of wild, monkey-sex for a very long time!
I’ve seen a physio who specialises in spinal injuries, and she’s told me I have multiple ‘mechanical issues’, and there’s no quick fix. It’s not like she can just push a disc back in and I’ll be sorted. Instead, I’ve been banned from sitting down for a while, and will have to figure out a way of doing some my writing standing up or lying down flat! That’s gonna take some figuring out!
Anyway, thanks to my hubby and some wonderful helpers, I have now managed to get the latest book uploaded to Amazon, and I’m as excited as its possible to be when you’re lying down to tell you all about it!
It’s going to be called Demons, and it follows the story of Evan, my Welsh Guardian from Cardiff.
It’s been such fun to write because I’ve been able to bring the entire story back to the UK, and although it’s not actually set in Wales, there have been plenty of opportunities to mention areas of Cardiff where my parents grew up, and that I remember very fondly from visiting my grandparents, aunties and uncles, every weekend when I was a child.
There’s also going to be plenty of trouble and strife going on with one of our existing Alpha-Stalwart families, and a couple of new characters that I dare you not to fall in love with!
I’ll also be bringing back one of my favourite cake-bakers, Claire, who’ll you find is still as sassy and protective of her family as she ever was!
Anyway, the book is already available to pre-order on Amazon, with a release date of 21st April 2019 (Easter Sunday). (See links below.)
I’ll be staggering the release to the library again, but it will be available in the library by the end of April at the latest.
I’m really sorry that this is even necessary, because I love the feedback I get from all my library readers, but while people are still prepared to download illegal copies from websites run by organised criminal gangs, I have no choice but to do everything I can to protect my books from theft, and this is just part of an overall strategy I’m working on with Amazon.
I’m hoping to be able to post chapter one to the secret page on my website sometime in the next week but doing everything flat on my back is almost impossible. I’m having to give hubby lessons on how to manage my website, so it’ll be interesting to see what you end up with!
I’ll let you know when it’s available.
In the meantime, take care of yourselves, and I’ll be in touch soon.
Beth
xx

  1. I have just finished all the Alpha – Stalwarts. – Guardians books and I loved them. I like your style of writing . More please

    1. Thanks, Cheryl. It’s always nice to know when someone connects with my stories. I’m working on getting Demons ready at the moment, albeit from flat on my back! I’ve got ideas in mind for the rest of the series, I just can’t make up my mind which one should be next.
I’m sure it will come to me in a flash of inspiration.
      Any…minute…now…!

  2. Do you plan to give Drago his own book in the Guardians series? After Saviours I would love to see him have an HEA. Just saying. How many more books do you see in the Guardians series? I have pre-ordered Demons and can’t wait to get started on it!! I love them all, and have devoured every book in the Alpha-Stalwart-Guardians family!

    1. Hi there,
Thanks for your question, and for letting me know you’re an honorary family member!
Drago will definitely get his own story in one of the upcoming books. The plan is to have another three books in the Guardians series, and at the moment I haven’t thought far enough ahead to decide which one will be his. I still have Yuri, Kris and Logan as well, so I think I’ve got my work cut out for me.
If you drop me an email to bethabbott2016@ahoo.com I’ll add you to my mailing list. It’s the easiest way to make sure you get all the latest updates, plus an early peek at any upcoming books.
      Best wishes,
      Beth

  3. Hi Beth,
Just finished reading Demons. Wow another wonderful book. The family continues to grow. Looking forward to the next book. I always pre-order. When they arrive on my Ipad I stop whatever I am reading to read you book straight away.

    1. Hi Wendy,
Thanks for getting in touch. Sorry for the delay replying, but the family have confiscated my laptop while we’re on holiday!
I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed Demons, because it was one of the books I had the most fun writing. I already have plans for the next book, but I’m afraid it’s been delayed due to my back problems. Hopefully, I’ll be back on track soon, and you can look forward to a late summer bonus.
      Best wishes,
      Beth
      xx
